Historical or Generational Trauma and Its Impact on Current Culture and Education

Let’s Ignite Student Success

Historical or Generational Trauma and Its Impact on Current Culture and Education

Historical Trauma is cumulative and collective. The impact of trauma manifests itself, emotionally and psychologically, in different cultures. Those who never ever experienced the trauma, such as children and descendants, can still exhibit signs and symptoms of trauma (Yellow Horse Brave Heart). "Being traumatized means continuing to organize your life as if the trauma is still going on..." (Van Der Kolk)
