I will walk you through a little of the Native American History of shields and their uses. You will each then make your own shield to represent yourself.

Nikki BarrettMelin has been teaching for almost 20 years and is currently a 2nd grade teacher in Colstrip, Montana. Nikki constantly looks for new ways to bring Native Culture, history and current events into the classroom. When not teaching, she coaches cross country, helps lead a 4-H group, raises a 13 year old daughter that is active in everything and a 15 year old son that is also very active in all things.
