KSU with Buffalo Artifacts & AR

Junior level students at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio taking social studies teaching methods from Dr. Scott Durham were getting hands on experience with primary source artifacts about the Northern Cheyenne Tribe. They used Ahtove.org to experience Augmented Reality with Chitat in regalia (first picture – Chitat is 6 ft. tall), researched about artifacts from Randall Tall Bull on the uses of the buffalo (second and third picture), and then touched and talked about the artifacts from the buffalo trunk. Dr, Durham shared about the importance and relevance of using artifacts in social studies instruction as these students were preparing for a future in social studies at the high school level.
