UMU uses Ahtove with 4th Graders

Third year social studies students from Dr. Mary Beth Henning’s class at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, OH. Students utilized the resources of the ahtove.org website in conjunction with the University’s “Buffalo Trunk” to bring Indigenous learning to fourth grade classrooms in Alliance Intermediate School. These third-year social studies students incorporated a variety of teaching techniques they are learning at UMU with the ahtove.org website from The Lodge Approach.

Oxford 2026

The Lodge Approach presented our work and research at the Oxford Education Research Symposium in Oxford, United Kingdom, at Harris Manchester College on March 25. Our presentation shared the collaborative work of The Lodge Approach and the transformative learning experiences facilitated for youth and adults. This presentation was attended by scholars from around the world, including South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Poland, the United Kingdom, and many others. We made many new friends that were excited to learn about our work and about the Northern Cheyenne.
